Roadside Station Okukuji Daigo

The northernmost roadside station in Ibaraki Prefecture where you can experience local attractions from gourmet food to hot springs

This is a spot filled with the charms of Ogo, “the town of Fukuroda Falls and the town of travel. There is a restaurant where you can enjoy delicious Ogo cuisine, a relaxing hot spring, and a store space where you can find fresh vegetables and souvenirs. It also serves as a tourist information center, providing information on attractions, access, and lodging.

When you visit Daiko, this place can be used as the best gateway to start with. It is also a great place to shop and rest on your way home.

Daiko Hot Springs

Okuji Daigo has a hot spring facility that springs from the source of the Daiko Onsen. The sodium sulfate spring water is effective for high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, cuts and abrasions, and is good for the skin. Visitors can relax and relieve their fatigue from sightseeing in the hot spring.

Daigo Taste Restaurant

At the restaurant, you can enjoy delicious dishes unique to Okuji. The menu offers a variety of dishes using local ingredients such as Okkuji shamo, yuba, and soba (buckwheat noodles), allowing you to enjoy a delicious meal on your way to or from Okkuji.

The “Shio Ramen with Raw Yuba” is topped with special raw yuba and has a light flavor that blends well with the unique texture of the yuba. Another must-try when visiting Ogo Town is the curry made with Okujishamo (Japanese whitefish). It is a dish that can be easily enjoyed, and its deliciousness is well-received. In addition, we also recommend the Koshihikari rice that is the pride of Ogo. The rice is a gem, having once won the top prize in Japan, so be sure to try it.

At the “Daigo Market,” you can get local specialties of Daigo. Fresh vegetables, souvenirs, and items that allow you to enjoy the local flavor are lined up here.

Original soft-serve ice cream made from local ingredients is also available at the store. Visitors can enjoy the unique local flavors of apples, Okkuji tea, and Hitachi-Daikoku.

Oyaki: You can enjoy the taste of Oyaki, the grandma’s favorite food in Ogo, at home.
